BMW’s Electrification Roadmap

BMW aims to have 20 fully electric models in the market by 2026. In 2023, the company sold 300,000 EVs, which accounted for 15% of its total sales. During 2025, BMW targets 500,000 EV sales annually, driven by the introduction of new models like the iX2.

  • Charging Infrastructure: BMW is also investing in a global network of fast-charging stations, with plans to have 10,000 stations operational by 2026.
  • Battery Technology: BMW is focusing on solid-state battery technology, which is expected to increase energy density and reduce charging times.

Global Push for Compact Electric SUVs

Compact electric SUVs are today being urged by governments globally through measures such as subsidies and tax credits. New rules in the European Union promise that all post-2035 cars are expected electric, thus enhancing compact EVs’ need.
